What Is Chimera?
Chimera is Power Hungry Performance's wireless vehicle programming interface — a compact OBDII module that links your Powerstroke's ECM and FICM to the Chimera Connect app over a high-speed CAN bus.
Built around the ESP32 platform, Chimera connects to your phone over Bluetooth Low Energy. Plug it into the OBDII port, open Chimera Connect on your iPhone or Android, and the app finds your Chimera, brings the CAN bus online, and reads what's on the truck — no COM ports, no proprietary cables, no laptop.
Whether you're flashing a fresh calibration on the bench or pulling up a customer's truck on the lot, Chimera and the app go where you go.
How It Works
Plug Into the OBDII Port
Chimera's integrated OBDII male connector plugs directly into your truck's diagnostic port and powers up from the vehicle's 12V — no external batteries, wall warts, or breakout boxes. On the bench, power it from a 12V harness to program modules off the vehicle.
Connect Over Bluetooth
Open Chimera Connect on your iPhone or Android and tap connect. The app scans for your Chimera over Bluetooth, links up, and reports its firmware version — no pairing codes, no COM ports. The device shows up simply as "Chimera."
Add Your Truck to the Garage
Chimera reads the modules on the truck, and the app registers your ECM and FICM to your garage. Your trucks, modules, unlocks, and flash history live in your account — sign in on any phone and they're right there.
Browse, Unlock & Flash
Pick from the tunes that match your calibration, unlock a module with tokens, and flash your ECM or FICM over Bluetooth. Save a stock backup first, watch progress live, and review every flash in your module's history.
Keep the Link Steady While Flashing
A flash writes directly to your module, so keep your phone near the Chimera and your truck's battery healthy — or on a charger — for the whole operation. Chimera Connect walks you through each step and saves a stock backup you can always return to.

Status LEDs
Chimera's four status LEDs give you immediate visual feedback on what the module is doing — without ever looking at your phone.
Yellow — Heartbeat
Pulses steadily when the pass-thru firmware is running. If it's blinking, the brain is alive.
Green — CAN RX
Flashes each time a CAN frame matching your acceptance filter is received from the vehicle bus.
Blue — App Link
Solid when Chimera is connected to the app. Blinks as messages pass between your phone and the module over Bluetooth.
Red — 18V FEPS
Illuminates whenever the 18V programming voltage is active — your warning that a flash operation is live.
Field Notes
Bluetooth Range & RF Environment
Chimera links to your phone over Bluetooth. For the steadiest connection — especially during a flash — keep your phone close to the truck and away from heavy 2.4 GHz interference. Keeping nearby Wi-Fi on 5 GHz helps too.
Powered From the Truck
Chimera runs on the vehicle's 12V through the OBDII port — plug in and go. On the bench, power it from a 12V harness to work on modules off the vehicle.
