You choose what power levels you load onto your chip. Our easy-to-use HydraFlash software gives you full control.  HydraFlash is compatible with both Windows and Mac computers.

The Hydra Chip works on all 7.3L Power Stroke vehicles and 1994-1997 Navistar-equipped International vehicles. Please check the example PCM pictures if you have any questions. Navistar vehicles that can use the Hydra Chip will have the PCM mounted through the firewall. If your Navistar vehicle has the PCM on the side of the engine, you will use our Orion Reflash System.

The Hydra Chip™ always has [00] bypass mode and [NS] no start built in, with 15 more positions you can program from our database. The choice is always yours.

Please Note: [00] and [NS] are not switch-on-the-fly and do require you to shut the vehicle off and cycle the key to get in and out of.

Also note: These Hydra Chips will not come pre-programmed. The end-user or end-installer will need to select the appropriate tunes. This can be done via our HydraFlash software. Instructions can be found at HydraHelp.com

Titan Unlock information: 

The Titan Unlock covers “Stage 1,” “Stage 1.5,” and “Stage 3 Hybrid” injectors up to 100% over nozzles with a stock turbo, or a stock turbo with a modified compressor wheel. The Stage 1 and Stage 1.5 tunes will not accommodate an HPOP flowing more than 10% over stock. Stage 3 tunes will accommodate the stock HPOP or up to an Adrenaline HPOP. Stage 2 injector support is not available at this time. All the Titan Unlock tunes will accommodate a stock transmission, or a transmission with a modified valve body. “Built” or “race” transmissions may not shift as desired.

The modified injector files will show up in the HydraFlash calibration list alongside the standard calibrations. Video instruction HERE.

To access your modified injector files:

  • Close and re-open HydraFlash. HydraFlash checks the Serial Number upon launching.
  • Follow the instructions on HydraHelp.com to determine your Desired Calibration.
  • Click the “Change” button by the desired slot and enter your Desired Calibration in the Calibration Search Filter bar.
  • Scroll down through your Desired Calibrations until you reach your injector size.

At Power Hungry Performance, we believe returning a product
should be straightforward—not frustrating. If something’s not right, we’ll work with you to make it right. If you're having an issue or need any help: call our office, email our support team (support@phptune.com), or complete our Support Form. Our team knows these products inside and out and can troubleshoot most issues in minutes. We are in the office M-F, 9am-5pm EST.

Most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery.

No complicated RMA process required—just give us a call or complete our Support Form before sending
anything back. We’ll confirm whether your item qualifies for a refund or exchange and walk you through next steps.

Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll begin processing your refund:

  • Refunds will only be issued on
    unused items in their original packaging
  • Eligible refunds are issued within 7 business days
  • Refunds are applied to your original payment method
  • We can only refund items that were purchased directly from us
  • Shipping charges are non-refundable
  • A flat 20% restocking fee applies to all returns to help cover inspection, processing, and repackaging

How to Use

Power Hungry Performance’s tunes have a standardized naming convention of “Hex Code + Horsepower Over Stock + Usage Application”. For example, “VRAA6S3_40DD” would translate to: VRAA6S3 (based on the vehicle’s PCM code), 40hp over stock, Daily Driver.

The usage application descriptors are:

DD = Daily Driver

T = Tow

P = Performance

R = Race

X = Extreme

S = Factory Stock

MS = Modified Stock

HI = High Idle

WM = Whisper Mode

AT = Dead Pedal Anti-Theft

VM = Valet Mode (speed limiter)

TD = Teen Driver (speed limiter).

A note on the Tow tunes: we advise running the lower-hp tunes as the vehicle gets heavier. The heavier the load and the higher the power level, the more heat is generated. It is recommended to watch your EGTs, EOTs, and Transmission temperatures while towing.

Since Hydra users can load the tunes in any order, there is no standard tunes list, but an example tunes list may look like this:

Install is fairly straight forward. If you can follow directions and know a little about cars and trucks, you can do this. Many YouTube videos out there to watch. Power increased a lot. Woke up this 7.3 to where it should be from factory. I have all stock parts on the truck so i only use the 80HP daily as the max, but it's awesome.

I bought this to surprise my son. It is installed and he is a happy camper! He blessed me with 4 beautiful granddaughters and they come first. He made sacrifices which included waiting to get his truck back on the road as the kids came first. I have two things I was disappointed in. One was a lack of response to my first email asking for guidance as I wanted to surprise him. The second was that I didn’t receive the promised discount when I signed up for emails. I am glad I came straight to the source as your product was what came highly recommended. As long as my son is smiling I’m a happy mom! 😊

Not the easiest installation, but overall it was pretty painless. I haven't down a lot of tests. Other than pulling my trailer up the same hills I normally drive and so far, the performance increases has been majorly noticed.

The customer support was absolutely fantastic. I was walked thru installation and tunes prior to even ordering the hydra for my dt466e. Once arrived downloading software and tunes where a breeze. Instalation was nearly effortless and I had everything needed in the kit to install the chip. One in the truck all I can say is wow! If you dont have it or are thinking about it just click buy now and experience how your dt466e is supposed to run. Was able to safely add 80hp tunes that make this engine unrecognizable compaired to stock, while keeping egt in check even above 26k loads. This is a must have !

Was very easy to install, watched a video just to make sure I was cleaning connectors right but it connected and I love the 65 daily driver. Tbh I havent even used the others other than to confirm its working! Already improved mpg from 16.3 to just over 17! (Mixed driving mostly 50-65mph hwys, single rear axle empty flatbed singlecab)
