Description

Add a staging limiter to any Hydra tune. 

A staging limiter is a secondary, lower limiter used in drag racing to maintain a consistent RPM during staging. This staging limiter is triggered off the brake pedal for automatics or off the clutch switch for manuals. 

How it works: you send us your tune file and your Hydra Serial Number, indicate what RPM you'd like your staging limiter at, select whether you want a soft or hard limiter, and we'll write that into the file and email your updated tune file back! 

Email your tune file and info to support@phptune.com. Please include your invoice number for reference.

Hard Limiter vs Soft Limiter:

A "hard" limiter aggressively cuts fuel at the selected RPM. A hard limiter will hold RPM very consistently and will give you an aggressive, choppy limiter. A "soft" limiter cuts fuel less aggressively and gives you a smoother limiter at the designated RPM, but may creep a few hundred RPM higher than the actual RPM limit set due to the additional fuel. That creep is dependent on vehicle load. The soft limiter will leave more fuel on the table and will build more boost during staging, but may need to be dialed in depending on your setup.

should be straightforward—not frustrating. If something’s not right, we’ll work with you to make it right. If you're having an issue or need any help: call our office, email our support team (support@phptune.com), or complete our Support Form. Our team knows these products inside and out and can troubleshoot most issues in minutes. We are in the office M-F, 9am-5pm EST.

Most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery.

No complicated RMA process required—just give us a call or complete our Support Form before sending
anything back. We’ll confirm whether your item qualifies for a refund or exchange and walk you through next steps.

Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll begin processing your refund:

  • Refunds will only be issued on
    unused items in their original packaging
  • Eligible refunds are issued within 7 business days
  • Refunds are applied to your original payment method
  • We can only refund items that were purchased directly from us
  • Shipping charges are non-refundable
  • A flat 20% restocking fee applies to all returns to help cover inspection, processing, and repackaging

We ask that customers cover return shipping costs and use a trackable service when possible. This ensures your return arrives safely and avoids delays. Please pack your item securely to prevent damage during transit—our team will inspect everything once it arrives. Not sure how to ship something back? We’re happy to guide you.
